Lukas – Tiny Light Session
Doing charity work and giving back has always been a huge part of who I am. There are two primary organizations I work through to do photography sessions for families who are going through medical problems and may not have the time or finances to afford family portraits.
The Tiny Light Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides professional photography for children and families that have been faced with a life-altering diagnosis. It is a Canadian national charity and I am proud to be a part of it.
Lukas’ Mom contacted the Tiny Light Foundation in the winter and was put in touch with me. We decided on a spring session and the day couldn’t have been more perfect! It was warm and gorgeous out as we walked around the Arboretum with Lukas and his brother and sister.
Lukas was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot when he was only 1 week old and underwent surgery to fix his heart at the age of 6 months. He has also recently been diagnosed with Autism. Lukas is such a bright and happy kid and we had a great time running and playing. He also recited some of his favourite commercials to me while having some apple juice – all in all it was a great day!
