Summer Lovin’ ~ Kate and Chris’ Engagement Sneak Peek
Today’s post is a special one. I have known Kate for many many years. We met at one of the Survivor Network (a network for teen cancer survivors, 2001-2009) retreats in Muskoka. I was one of co-founders and helped to run the camp and Kate came as a camper and we hit it off straight away. Kate was goofy and fun and I completely identified with that! We had such wonderful times with everyone there and the people I met through the Survivor Network are still such an important part of my life today, years later.
Kate moved out to Canmore, Alberta a few years go, and while I was sad to see her go, I was excited for her new adventures with her boyfriend Chris. Kate studied hard to become a nurse after experiencing wonderful nurses at CHEO during her treatment for Leukaemia, and Chris studied hotel management and together they started to build their life together.
When I heard that Chris had popped the question, I was so excited for them!! Then came Bently, their super duper adorable Bernese Mountain dog whose pictures I stalk on Facebook like crazy lol.
When Kate asked me to be their wedding photographer, I couldn’t have been more honoured, and excited!! Kate and Chris will be married next August, on the Rideau River. We had their engagement session yesterday in the quaint town of Perth. Sadly, Bently couldn’t join us as Kate and Chris were reluctant to fly him out seeing as he’s still so young (6 months), but never the less, we had a wonderful time and it was so great to catch up!
Kate’s gorgeous ring.
Sometimes I like hiding in the bushes to get the perfect shot. lol.
Love this wall of ivy.
We snuck inside to this courtyard patio for a few portraits – not to worry, we ate there after our session!
And just because I can, a collage of some of Kate and I together at Survivor Network camp! (yes I had blonde hair in 2004 and super short hair in 2005)
Have a wonderful day,
Liz Contact Me, I would love to speak with you!
