Puparazzi on the Red Carpet ~ Westfest 2011 with BARK Rescue
Last June I once again attended Westfest, a free arts and culture festival held annually on the second weekend in June in Westboro, Ottawa. The three day celebration is accessible to everyone and admission is free. This 100% Canadian event has hosted artists and musicians from every province and territory of Canada.
You can check out this years events and information at their website.
I was at the festival with Masters N Dogs (formally Bark and Fitz) raising money for BARK Rescue. This organization is a no-kill shelter that seeks to rehabilitate and re-home abandoned and abused dogs in the Ottawa area. It also provides support to families to help them work through problems so that their dog can remain with their family.
This is an incredible organization and I wanted to help out however I could. I took photos as if the dogs were walking the red carpet. We had fascinators and pearls for the ladydogs and bow ties for the gents.
There is a different theme each year, so if you had a photo taken last year, you can get a new one this time! Ill be volunteering again this June, so come out an get your dogs portrait taken to help raise money for an important cause.
Wellie and Stella by their signs letting people know about the fundraiser. Wellie was a bit nervous about the sign so she sat back a bit, just to be safe. haha.
And now for some of the dogs who graced the stage.
Have a wonderful day,
