A Fairytale in the City

A few months ago I had the pleasure of shooting alongside the legendary photographer, Baz Kanda of 5 Rivers Studio. Hany and Marlene were having a beautiful wedding in July and I was so happy to photograph with Baz for this one.

I got to spend the morning with Hany and his groomsmen and had a blast. The feeling of family was so evident – especially when the whole family gathered around a laptop to Skype video with family in Egypt who couldn’t make it to Ottawa for the wedding.

The church was filled to the brim with family and friends who came to watch Hany and Marlene be married. After the ceremony, doves were released and the couple rode in a horse and carriage to their reception at the Chateau Laurier. It was a real like fairytale!

I got to spend some time with the bridesmaids and groomsmen while the bride and groom went with Baz for some portraits. We had a lot of fun and took some great shots.

The reception all was all decked out in pink and I have never witness so much dancing in my life! From the moment the bride and groom arrived surrounded by belly dancers, everyone was dancing and having a great time.

Congratulations Hany and Marlene and thank you Baz for having me along for the ride!

The belly dancers entertained everyone at the reception and were fantastic. So expressive.
