Jennifer and Tyler ~ Engagement Session in Graffiti Wall Heaven
Posted on Apr 29, 2010 at 9:30 am by Liz · 6 CommentsI love Westboro Village. I love it so much and for many reasons. I love it for Bark & Fitz where my dogs would live if they could. I love it for The Works, where I would eat every day if I could! I love it for Lululemon and my very unhealthy addiction to their clothes and bags and…everything! But most of all I love it for the feeling you get when you’re there. It is such a charismatic place and is full of such creative energy.
I have been wanting to shoot in Westboro Village with its myriad of beautiful graffiti and painted building walls, so you can imagine my excitement when Jennifer and Tyler wanted to have their engagement session there.
We met in the early evening to take advantage of less people as well as the beautiful spring sun as it was setting. We made use of many of those walls I was after and had a great time – you can’t help but have a great time when around these two.
I had such a hard time trying to narrow down which photos to show on the blog, so obviously I chose too many. So many of them screamed, show me!! You saw their sneak peek image the other day.
So without further adieu, please enjoy these photos of Jennifer and Tyler, in love.

This amazing wall is across from The Works and the only things that aren’t painted are the staircase, the green in front of the dog and obviously, Jenn and Tyler. It’s remarkable.

Jennifer and Tyler are wonderful and I cannot wait to shoot their wedding on August 7th!!
PS. and now after writing this post I am really craving a burger from The Works. Thomas would probably say, “How is that different from any other day?”. I wasn’t kidding when I said I could probably eat there every day. Hands down favourite burger of all time from The Works: Sum Yung Guy – sticky cream cheese, caramelized onions, gouda & limp strip bacon. sooooo yummy. Now I REALLY want one! And don’t even get me started on how good their Beechhouse Sauce is!!
Have a wonderful day,

Crosbie and His Humans
Posted on Dec 21, 2009 at 9:30 am by Liz · 1 CommentLast week I had such a wonderful time photographing Crosbie. He is so full of energy and so happy that it just radiates from him.
Crosbie loves three things; his family, snow and balls – especially balls. He has several stashed in every corner of the house, just in case. His absolute favourite ball is a well loved (ie. quite ripped and tatty looking) Dora the Explorer ball. He chases this ball in the yard for hours and has the biggest grin on his face doing so. No other ball is the same (his humans tried!), it HAS to be this ball.
This was also a special photo shoot because the family was moving 2 days after our shoot! It became not only a tribute to Crosbie, but also to the home they first purchased as a family together. I fell in love with their house and secretly wished that I was the one moving into it the following week.
When I arrived at their house, the snow was gently falling and was quite beautiful. By the time we’d finished some shots inside, an outright blizzard started – but that didn’t stop us! You can see how snowy it was in some of the photos. Everyone got covered in snow, including my camera (not to worry, it’s ok!).
Crosbie is so dang cute that I had a very hard time narrowing it down…
Here are many of my faves.

Crosbie ~ Sneak Peek
Posted on Dec 13, 2009 at 10:44 pm by Liz · 2 CommentsToday I had a fantastic session with Crosbie and his humans. I was so happy that they weren’t afraid of the snow and we had such fun in this winter wonderland that suddenly appeared last week in Ottawa. Crosbie LOVES the snow and it was so much fun to play around with him.
Here is a small sneak peek – stay tuned for the rest (there are so many good ones, he’s a looker!)

Printed Wedding Bands
Posted on Sep 22, 2009 at 6:00 pm by Liz · 2 Comments
I have to take a moment out to rave about our wedding bands and the local jeweler in Ottawa who created them for us.
A few years ago, before we even thought about getting married, Thomas found some very cool fingerprint wedding bands online by a jeweler in Europe. We thought it was a very cool idea and made note that if we ever got married, we wanted something like that. Fast forward a few years and that is exactly what we got!
We brought the idea to Goldform, a local jeweler located on Holland Avenue in Westboro. They were more than enthusiastic about it and we explored our options on how to go about getting the fingerprint onto the ring.
Mine was a bit trickier as my wedding band had to be hand made to fit into my engagement ring. Ben Alexander, our wonderful jeweler, took us through every step and made sure the rings were PERFECT before we went into the engraving process.
What we ended up doing to get the fingerprint onto the ring was printing our fingers all police like all over a sheet of paper (I used 1 sheet but Thomas used 2!). We then circled our favourite and I also blew that one up very big for comparison. These were then sent to the engraver and he hand engraved our fingerprints. As a bonus, we also had our wedding date hand engraved into the inside of each ring.

The end result is stunning and we couldn’t be happier with them.
Thank you to Ben and the whole team at Goldform for helping us to create the BEST WEDDING BANDS EVER!!!
Have a wonderful day,
