Big and Little
Posted on Jul 3, 2011 at 2:37 pm by Liz · 4 CommentsYesterday I got to spend the morning with Tina, Sasja (pronounced Sasha) and their human, Aislinn. It was a beautiful sunny day and we had a wonderful time walking, playing and chatting about puppies.
Aislinn rescued Tina from the Adopt a Greyhound Network three years ago and they’ve been inseparable ever since. They really have a beautiful bond.
Sasja is Whippet and a new addition that arrived last Thursday. She is just the cutest little ball of energy you’ll ever meet.
Lots more soon, but one for now. Meet Tina (left) and Sasja (right).

Have a wonderful day,

Puppy Poetry ~ Sonnet
Posted on Apr 12, 2011 at 9:00 am by Liz · 3 CommentsA few weeks ago I told you about how there were new doggy additions to our family and this weekend, little Sonnet came home. Jane, our Mom and I went to the breeder and Jane picked up the puppy she’s been (not so patiently) waiting to join her live for eight whole weeks.
Jane is smitten, and Sonnet follows her everywhere – it is beyond adorable, as is Sonnet herself.

It’s Raining Dogs!
Posted on Mar 20, 2011 at 2:49 pm by Liz · 7 CommentsI wanted to jump on here quickly to let you know that I’m sorry for not blogging for a while, but I promise I have a very good excuse: it’s raining dogs. Well not literally raining dogs, but there have been a lot of changes in my family and we are happy to be welcoming new dogs!
Sonnet
First up is Sonnet, a teensy weensy little Maltese/Shih Tzu puppy my sister will be picking up in three weeks. We visited the breeder last weekend so Jane could choose which puppy she wanted, and she chose a little brown female who she is naming, Sonnet.
She is four weeks old in these portraits.

Wellington
We weren’t looking for a third dog, but she found us. I found Wellington (formerly Maddie) on Petfinder and she was at a rescue called Animatch. She was at the centre for three months before she joined our family, and now we know that she was just waiting for us to realize she belonged with us.
We brought her home just over a week ago and she is just wonderful. You can read about our adventures with Wellie on my Ottawa Dog Blog where I’ll be blogging every week about her progress.

I took a video of the three dogs playing the day after we brought her home. Their energies match quite well and they have been playing like this at least once (if not more) every day!
To view a slideshow of the portraits I did during Wellie’s first weekend home, click here.
So that is my excuse! Everything has been about dogs around here and I’ll be getting back to blogging soon. I still have TONS of sessions to blog.
Have a wonderful day,

Just a little cuteness to brighten your day
Posted on Oct 7, 2010 at 11:45 am by Liz · No CommentsWe all know that I love dogs. Any shape or size, I love em all! Running the Ottawa Dog Blog gives me an outlet to connect with like-minded dog lovers and gives me a place to talk about dogs to someone other than Thomas.
I love photographing dogs because I get to hang out with them at the same time. On Sunday, this little one visited me. He is named Chase and is so adorable. He is a Yorkshire Terrier/Shih Tzu mix.
Chase has something to tell you…

Macy Loves her Pretty-in-Pink iBall
Posted on Jul 12, 2010 at 7:40 pm by Liz · 5 CommentsIf you know me, you know I have a soft spot for dogs. And by soft spot, I mean obsession. I’ve always loved dogs and I get really excited when someone tells me they are adding a four legged furry family member to their circle.
I first met with Alexandra and Mike in the Spring about shooting their July 2011 wedding (they are prepared and I love it!). Even then they were gushing about how they’d love to have a dog and of course, I was very encouraging in this idea.
A few months ago Alexandra emailed me to tell me that they had found their dog – an adorable lab mix puppy who they named Macy.
I was able to meet Macy last week and brought her a few presents, one of which was a pink fuzzy iBall from Bark & Fitz. Macy loved her iBall – so much so that she played with it for a good 20 minutes. For anyone who has had puppies, you know that this is a long time!
Macy is such a sweet dog and although Mike and Alexandra have some sleep-deprived nights ahead with her, I know it will all be worth it. She is a beautiful pup and she’ll be such a wonderful companion for life.
And here she is; meet Macy!

Have a wonderful day,
