Superhigh Swinging! ~ C. Family Sneak Peek
Posted on Sep 11, 2011 at 7:01 pm by Liz · 3 CommentsThis afternoon I got to play in the park with the C. Family. We had a great time running, climbing and swinging.
First up, the whole family outside of their beautiful home where they just moved last week! I must say I was really impressed as there was not a moving box in sight!

And of course, each kiddo separately doing what they do best.
Swinging.

Climbing & chatting about ice cream (we both love mint chocolate chip!).

Being awesome and simply beautiful.

Lots more soon!
Have a wonderful day,

A little tumble didn’t ruin his day!
Posted on Apr 5, 2011 at 10:00 am by Liz · No CommentsI had the pleasure of photographing little Jack a few days before Christmas and he was such a sweetheart. The poor little monkey had a fall about 15 minutes after we started the session and we had to take a quick break and watch some cartoons while getting Mommy-cuddles to make it all better.
After our little break, we played trucks in the kitchen and eventually braved the cold and headed outside for a walk in the park. I just love little kids in snow-suits! So cute!
Jack is such a wonderful little boy and his parents love him very much. He wasn’t too sure about me after his fall (I think he thought my big lens might have cause it – I promise it didn’t!), so Mom and Dad jumped up and down many times over to get him to giggle and although I wasn’t the one jumping and out of breath, I think it was very much worth it! Jack had a wonderful time and eventually forgot about the lady with the scary camera and had a great time.
Thank you Paulette and Tim for allowing me to capture your son’s joyful spirit. I can’t wait to do it again!
I love the face he is making!

Not too sure of me…

This was not posed at all – this is 100% natural and how he decided he wanted to watch TV. So adorable! Love the little pinkie sticking out.

Jumping, jumping and more jumping!

Best face ever. Love it!

I just love this series.

I love creating custom items from portrait sessions and one of my absolute favourite products are these super adorable 3×3 Mini Books. They are magnetic and even stick to the fridge!

Hot Pink and Surrounded by Boys
Posted on Apr 2, 2011 at 1:00 pm by Liz · No CommentsThis is the lovely Slater family. Sheri is a photographer in Ottawa and booked one of my Holiday Card Mini Sessions. She chose the Petrie Island location and although we almost got slipped up by goose droppings, we had a great time!
And ladies, don’t you LOVE Sheri’s coat? Talk about awesome!

This photo just cracks me up! Look at the little monkey hamming it up for the camera!

This one is also a favourite – I call it “Squishkiss”

And a few of Mom and Dad sans kiddos.

Sheri, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your very handsome family!
Have a wonderful day,

Keeping Warm on a Wintery Day
Posted on Feb 27, 2011 at 12:18 pm by Liz · 1 CommentWhen Hilary and Phil came in for their wedding consultation, Hilary told me she definitely wanted a winter engagement session. Fast forward to yesterday at historic Pinhey’s Point just outside of Ottawa in Kanata/Dunrobin, we traipsed around in the snow and found some great places to shoot.
Here is a sneak peek of lots more to come. Hilary and Phil have ordered a reception album and I can’t wait to design that and share it with you!
Right after I asked them to close their eyes for this shot, Hilary announced “Our eyes are closed because we are so in love”. The two burst out laughing, but you know what? It is true. These two are so in love and I cannot wait to photograph their wedding at Beantown Ranch in June.

The wind almost blew us away! ~ Sneak Peek
Posted on Dec 29, 2010 at 8:21 pm by Liz · 1 CommentOn Monday I was lucky enough to photograph one of my favourite families….like ever.
I have known the Woroshyl family since I was very little. Dr. Woroshyl has been my dentist since I was about 8 or 9 years old and I began looking after her two kids, Matthew and Melissa, when I was around 18. I would pick them up from school and we would hang out and play games and watch Bring It On (over and over and over – not my choice, but it was my movie! haha). I would spend the summers with them and we would swim in their neighbour’s pool, go on adventures and you guessed it, watch more Bring it On.
I looked after Matthew and Melissa until I moved to Ottawa five years ago, and I try to see them whenever I am home. They both have grown up so much, Matthew is now in University at U of T and Melissa only has one more year of high school left. To me though, they will eternally be little kids who I had so much fun playing with…I mean looking after.
We met up on Monday at their place to catch up, then headed out to Jack Darling Park. It wasn’t cold, only around 0 degrees, but the wind made it feel a lot colder than that. And it seemed like it was timed too, every time I would go to take a photo, a huge chilly gust would begin blowing.
Thankfully, my models were troopers.

Evidence of how windy it actually was:

And just for nostalgia’s sake, here is a photo I dug up from quite a while ago, when Melissa was much littler, and I was much blonder…and devoid of my now-permanent glasses.

More soon.
