Love in the Byward Market ~ Laura and Sean’s Sneak Peek
Posted on Oct 17, 2011 at 8:37 am by Liz · No CommentsThe other night I wasn’t sure if we were going to get rained out yesterday, but when I woke up to blue skies and even sunshine, I knew that the weather network never gets it right – and that’s ok with me!
Laura and Sean spend almost every Sunday perusing the market for the perfect fruits and vegetables to cook with, and then spend the afternoon together cooking up a storm. So it was fitting that yesterday morning I spent some time in the Byward Market and around downtown Ottawa with Laura and Sean for their engagement session. We had a blast and pretty much laughed the whole time.
These two are such wonderful people and I had such a lovely time walking, chatting and of course, photographing them!
Laura and Sean, thank you for sitting on damp things and getting a bit muddy – it was definitely worth it I think!

I just adored these cute little hand painted mini pumpkins, so of course we had to incorporate them into the ring shots!

I just love the colours of fall. We were so lucky that so many different coloured leaves were still on the trees.

Laura’s favourite colour is blue and Sean incorporated this into her engagement ring. There is a teensy blue stone on one side, and this will match her wedding band which has the same stone on the other side. Beautiful and so unique!

Molly and Ernie in Print
Posted on Apr 13, 2011 at 10:30 am by Liz · No CommentsOne of my favourite things to create after portrait and pet sessions, are photo books. They are really the best way to view the most portraits from your session at once.
Molly and Ernie‘s humans hired me to do a beautiful fall session with them and I was so excited when they ordered a collection that included a book.
This book is an 8×8 Photo Book with 20 pages of layflat paper. It’s gorgeous.
If you have any questions about the photo books or any other product I offer, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
Molly and Ernie’s humans even sent in a photo of Ernie with his book, as well as the wall grouping they created with portraits from their session – doesn’t it look fantastic???

I love getting photos of how clients’ session portraits are displayed in their home!

Staying Dry and Warm is for Sissies
Posted on Jan 30, 2011 at 1:00 pm by Liz · 2 CommentsJenga is the type of dog that everyone wants. She is warm, friendly, loving and full of beans.
During our fall session (yes I’m a bit behind on blogging!), Jenga never stopped moving – she ran and jumped and before we could stop her, she was IN the water! It wasn’t snowing yet, but this was the weekend before Ottawa’s first big snowstorm and it was far from warm. Jenga didn’t seem to notice as once she got it in her head, there was no stopping her. She was in and out and in and out over and over and all the while had the goofiest doggy grin on her face. She had a blast.

Jenga’s humans ordered the most beautiful 20×24″ Floatmount Canvas Print Storyboard and it is stunning. I seriously almost kept it for myself it’s so gorgeous!

Floatmount canvas prints are created when the storyboard or photo is printed onto canvas, then wrapped around masonite to create a thin wrap which is protected with laminate and padding is added between the print and the masonite to give the front of the Floatmount a raised, elegant look. The back has a 3/4-inch gatorblock that allows the print to extend out from the wall. It is because of this that they appear to “float” on the wall. The Floatmount Canvas Prints come ready to hang, so there is no framing necessary!
If you have any questions about my products or my process, please send me a note – I’d love to hear from you!

Q: Why don’t seagulls fly over the bay? ~ Slater Family Sneak Peek
Posted on Nov 6, 2010 at 4:24 pm by Liz · 2 CommentsA: Because they would be bagels.
I had a great time this afternoon with the Slater family hanging out at Petrie Island. It was a bit chilly, but they were good sports and we got some fantastic family photos.
More soon! One sneak peek for now.
