Say Hello to Valerie!

I’m so excited to introduce all of you to my intern for the next few weeks! Her name is Valerie and she is a photography student at Le Cité Collégiale. She just finished her first week with me and I had such a great time with her – good thing I have her for two more weeks!!

Valerie will be prepping images for long lost blog posts (there are A LOT coming your way so stay tuned!!). She is also helping me with some marketing materials, photographing lots of products, doing some updates to the elizabeth&jane Facebook page and lots more! I am very happy and thankful to have her here to help me out for a few weeks!

I had Valerie do some shots for me for my Ottawa Dog Blog today and she did a fantastic job!

Brand spanking new promotional video!

This has been a project months in the making. This summer I set out to have a promotional video made of myself. I had the pleasure of working with my favourite Ottawa wedding videographer, Jeff from Equivocality, for not only Genevieve and James‘ wedding this summer, but also for Vikki and Dan‘s wedding this fall. He is an amazing person to work alongside and I knew he was the one I wanted to create this video for me.

Special thanks to Tiffany & Phil, Elizabeth & Cooper and Genevieve & James for helping to make this video amazing – I couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you for allowing Jeff to tag along and film our sessions together – it really does mean the world to me!

You’ll learn some pretty great things about this video:

1. I shoot with my glasses on (4 eyes of the world unite!)
2. I attract dogs from miles around (and totally love it)
3. Thomas and I have some awesome dance skills

The fantastic and adorably cute song in this video is by Mindy Gledhill. You should definitely check her out – I really love her stuff and am so happy I was able to find it for my video.

And now for some images captured during the making of this video.

First up are Tiffany and Phil and their stunning fall engagement session. These two got engaged in Gatineau Park so it was fitting to have their engagement session at Mackenzie King Estates in Gatineau Park. The fall colours were absolutely perfect and it was so beautiful.

Tiffany and Phil are getting married next fall and I cannot wait for their wedding!!

Next up is the adorable Cooper and his favourite human, Elizabeth.

Cooper is a golden doodle and at the time of our session this fall, he was 5 months old and VERY bouncy. We had the session at Bruce Pit Park and made lots of friends while having a wonderful time.

Last but definitely not least is Genevieve and James. You may remember from their wedding that Genevieve’s hair was blonde. I asked her and James to get all dolled up once again in their wedding attire and they were so wonderful about it. We had such a fun time around City Hall and found some beautiful trees to photograph under. I just adore the colours in these images.

There’s no place like home ~ Baby A’s Sneak Peek

Yesterday I had such a wonderful afternoon. I got to spend it with beautiful 6 day old Baby A and her brand new parents. This baby is such a lucky little one and has been loved long before she was born.

Such an incredible journey and such an incredible little miracle.

Baby A’s family has the best decorated home – seriously right out of a design magazine. When I saw this stunning chandelier in their kitchen, I knew I had to use it in the session. I LOVE the way these images turned out.

The tissue paper pom poms in the background of the image are from Pom+Love on Etsy (Baby A’s Mom and I both adore Etsy). Baby A’s Mom got them for above her crib instead of a mobile – isn’t that such a great idea? She got them in the colours of Baby A’s nursery.

The perfect holiday gift!

Baby A’s shoe collection is impressive. These were my favourites though!

Thank you to my amazing friend, Sarah, for this custom knit baby bowl – it worked perfectly and Baby A loved it so much she fell fast asleep in it.

Baby A has some pretty awesome big siblings. They love her a lot and are always making sure they are as close as they can be, just in case they are needed.

Amore ~ Camille and Pierre’s Sneak Peek

Camille and Pierre were married yesterday in a beautiful ceremony at their church in Ottawa. The day was perfect and although it was a little chilly, Camille and Pierre braved the cold for some beautiful portraits among the flowers at the ornamental gardens in the experimental farm.

Camille and Pierre, it was truly an honour to capture your day, and your obvious love for each other.

If this isn’t love, I don’t know what is…

Camille and I both adore weeping willow trees so we had to include this one that is on their church grounds for a shot (left).

Their wedding colour was purple and we were lucky enough to discover these beautiful purple flowers still in bloom!

Love in the Courtyards ~ Camille and Pierre’s Sneak Peek

This morning I got to spend some time out in the beautiful sunshine with Camille and Pierre celebrating their engagement and upcoming wedding this fall.

We wandered around the courtyards downtown Ottawa and had a great time. These two are so very much in love and are the sweetest people you’ll ever meet.
