Love, Smiles and Licks ~ Hayden and Ashton’s Sneak Peek

I had a wonderful afternoon yesterday with 10 week old baby, Hayden, and his “big brother” Ashton, a 3 year old Jack Russell Terrier.

Hayden was a superstar for the entire session and enjoyed his time in front of the camera. Not to be left out, Ashton hammed it up and gave me lots and lots of kisses – sometimes even while I was photographing his baby brother! (I am actually quite used to this haha).

I just love this shot – it just exudes “family” to me.

Now it’s Ashton’s turn! He waited (not-so) very patiently because I had treats and he wanted them.

1 Scruffy and 2 adorable twins ~ Sneak Peek

I think my favourite baby-age to photograph is 6 months old. At this age, babies react to the world around them and give the cutest little smiles – as well as they are still really awkward and so cute.

Last night I got to spend some time outside in the beautiful weather with Kim and Keane and their growing family. Hudson, their adorable mystery mix came along for the session and we all know how much I adore photographing dogs so this was a fantastic thing for me.

Hudson was the first (fur)kid.

Introducing Amelia and Odin, pretty much the cutest babies ever.

Amelia is already a complete Daddy’s girl and is happiest in his arms.

Odin just discovered his tongue. He really likes to stick it out at you and blow bubbles.

What a beautiful family.

Lots of animals + an amazing couple = love! ~ Melanie and Jeff’s Sneak Peek

You may remember Melanie and Jeff from their wedding I photographed last year. Melanie emailed me a few months ago with the idea of a “farm session”. Melanie and Jeff live on a farm where Melanie runs a horse camp. I jumped at the idea and we had such a wonderful time yesterday evening.

I got to play with their two dogs, Calvin and Levi as well as Melanie’s horse and saw their sheep, ponies, teensy barn kittens and even some frogs jumping around in the field – it was quite the evening!

Here are way too many sneak peek images, just because I couldn’t choose my favourites!

Meet Levi and Calvin. They are beagles and they are adorable – they just wanted you to know that.

A girl and her horse. Melanie has had McCadden since she was four – McCadden is now 19 years old and is a beautiful sight to see.

McCadden really wanted to eat the yummy green grass and was very happy to let me take this shot. She just munched and munched away. This was probably her favourite shot…because I wasn’t trying to make her ignore the delicious grass! haha

Now it’s time for Jeff’s baby, the tractor. I was really excited because I got to ride in it! It’s the first time I’ve ever been in a tractor and it was awesome. We went like 20kph!! haha

I love how the light dances around them in this one.

I have a new shadow and his name is Barley ~ Barley’s Sneak Peek

This morning I made a new friend. His name is Barley and he was rescued by his humans only two months ago from Big Sky Ranch. In these past months he has come so far and is so well trained – such a big accomplishment for his humans, Ali and Sean.

Barley and I got along really well because he’s cute, and I had treats. haha. But in all seriousness, Barley is one happy pup and I got lots of kisses and pets in on this beautiful fall-ish morning.

Barley loved posing for me. By the end he was doing it all on his own.

Barley told the most hilarious joke here – you just had to be there. haha.

Quite often during dog sessions, the dogs get loose and run to me to get their “reward”. This shot is quite common but I thought this particular one was so funny that I just had to include it in this post.

The Fur-st Born ~ Clio’s sneak peek

Yesterday I got to spend the afternoon with Clio and her humans. Clio is a vibrant and playful Portuguese Water Dog who has the most beautiful multi-coloured eyes. She loves her humans fiercely and will make a wonderful big sister when the new “human” baby arrives in the fall.
