Just a little cuteness to brighten your day

We all know that I love dogs. Any shape or size, I love em all! Running the Ottawa Dog Blog gives me an outlet to connect with like-minded dog lovers and gives me a place to talk about dogs to someone other than Thomas.

I love photographing dogs because I get to hang out with them at the same time. On Sunday, this little one visited me. He is named Chase and is so adorable. He is a Yorkshire Terrier/Shih Tzu mix.

Macy Loves her Pretty-in-Pink iBall

If you know me, you know I have a soft spot for dogs. And by soft spot, I mean obsession. I’ve always loved dogs and I get really excited when someone tells me they are adding a four legged furry family member to their circle.

I first met with Alexandra and Mike in the Spring about shooting their July 2011 wedding (they are prepared and I love it!). Even then they were gushing about how they’d love to have a dog and of course, I was very encouraging in this idea.

A few months ago Alexandra emailed me to tell me that they had found their dog – an adorable lab mix puppy who they named Macy.
I was able to meet Macy last week and brought her a few presents, one of which was a pink fuzzy iBall from Bark & Fitz. Macy loved her iBall – so much so that she played with it for a good 20 minutes. For anyone who has had puppies, you know that this is a long time!

Macy is such a sweet dog and although Mike and Alexandra have some sleep-deprived nights ahead with her, I know it will all be worth it. She is a beautiful pup and she’ll be such a wonderful companion for life.

Hello World!

Nothing is cuter than a brand new baby…ok well except maybe puppies…or baby anything really – but that’s besides the point. Baby Casey is one of the cutest little newborns I’ve ever seen, and I’m not just saying that because he slept like a champ and his parents are all round cool people, I’m saying that because it’s true!

Casey was 6 days old on our shoot and what was even more special is that we had the shoot on Father’s Day. That meant it was Casey’s dad’s first ever Father’s Day which was an amazing thing to share with them.

Casey is one little guy who is loved a whole lot. His big sister, Priscilla the dog, just adores him and watches over him and it’s just so cute. She kept checking in with him our entire shoot.

So now, I’d like to present the 6 day old baby boy, Casey.

Priscilla helped out during our shoot.

This is a neat one. Casey’s Dad is an amateur photographer and shot some “behind the scenes” photos of me photographing Casey. The one on the right is by Neal and the one on the left is what I was shooting!

6 Reasons Why You Should Have a Cupcake on Your Birthday

You may remember Olivia from her mom’s maternity shoot, her newborn shoot, and her “pink” shoot. A few weeks ago we had a very special session – Olivia had a birthday and she turned one!

I had wanted to do a shoot with a little one in a tutu for a while so this proved to be the perfect opportunity. For the occasion, Olivia was given her first ever cupcake. She loved it, and she thinks everyone should have a cupcake on their birthday and so made this list:
