Big Love in Little Italy ~ Krista and Dan’s (& Riker) Sneak Peek

This morning I spend a few hours walking around Little Italy and Westboro with Krista and Dan. These two were so much fun and braved the chilly morning with laughter and a few tears (on account of the cold making Krista’s eyes water like crazy).

These two lovebirds are getting married in Newfoundland next summer, but wanted some engagement portraits in the city that they now live in, and love.

We began in Little Italy, walking along Preston Street, taking in the morning sun and posing in front of cute restaurant after cute restaurant.

I just love this mural underneath the bridge and I asked Krista and Dan to pose like the silhouettes around them.

I also spent some time creeping in bushes and looking a bit like a stalker – I’m pretty sure that’s what they are laughing about here on the right.

We then headed to their apartment to pick up their fur-kid, Riker, the pug. This guy’s love of the camera was only to be outdone by his love for treats.

This is his, “Please Liz, may I have some more?” face.

Look I’m sitting, can I have the treat?

A Warm Little Bundle for a Cold Winter’s Day

Baby Aidan made his appearance into the world on January 18th, two weeks late. He just wanted everyone to know that he was the one calling the shots now.

Aidan was a rock star during his session, including nailing daddy a few times when the diaper was off…but I think it was worth it – don’t you?

Just a little cuteness to brighten your day

We all know that I love dogs. Any shape or size, I love em all! Running the Ottawa Dog Blog gives me an outlet to connect with like-minded dog lovers and gives me a place to talk about dogs to someone other than Thomas.

I love photographing dogs because I get to hang out with them at the same time. On Sunday, this little one visited me. He is named Chase and is so adorable. He is a Yorkshire Terrier/Shih Tzu mix.

Chase has something to tell you…

Macy Loves her Pretty-in-Pink iBall

If you know me, you know I have a soft spot for dogs. And by soft spot, I mean obsession. I’ve always loved dogs and I get really excited when someone tells me they are adding a four legged furry family member to their circle.

I first met with Alexandra and Mike in the Spring about shooting their July 2011 wedding (they are prepared and I love it!). Even then they were gushing about how they’d love to have a dog and of course, I was very encouraging in this idea.

A few months ago Alexandra emailed me to tell me that they had found their dog – an adorable lab mix puppy who they named Macy.
I was able to meet Macy last week and brought her a few presents, one of which was a pink fuzzy iBall from Bark & Fitz. Macy loved her iBall – so much so that she played with it for a good 20 minutes. For anyone who has had puppies, you know that this is a long time!

Macy is such a sweet dog and although Mike and Alexandra have some sleep-deprived nights ahead with her, I know it will all be worth it. She is a beautiful pup and she’ll be such a wonderful companion for life.
