“Forever can never be long enough for me to feel like I’ve had long enough with you.” Train, Marry Me.

Every once and a while there comes along a song that makes my heart all fluttery and I keep pressing repeat on my iPod. Right now, this song is by a band called Train and the song is called “Marry Me“.

I predict that this will be THE bride and groom first dance song for couples getting married in 2011, and I can 100% see why. I want to get married again just to dance to this song. It’s beautiful and I am so in love with it. It expresses the exact way I feel about Thomas and I think that is wonderful.

I grew up with a musician. My mother is a wonderful piano player and studied music all her life. She taught music to children growing up and then became a music teacher in middle school. I was always surrounded by beautiful piano music every day and was very lucky for it. It relaxes and calms me and helps me to focus.

So now fast forward to today when I no longer live in the same house as a piano, I relax by listening to musicians who play the piano. My favourite artist to write to is Yiruma. I discovered him through YouTube and I don’t remember how, but I know it was this video that I stumbled upon and fell in love with his genius.

After replaying this song over and over on YouTube I knew I had to have his albums so I downloaded quite a few of his albums and they are quite often the songs I listen to when I write or if I need to concentrate. I have written before about how much I love a good tune to groove to, but when I need to form words I need songs without them or I end up writing out the words from the song into whatever I am attempting to write. Not very good when you’re trying to sound professional but instead write something about “getting down like the economy” (listen for it – you’ll hear it and laugh a lot!).

I am currently listening to Yiruma to write this very post and I hope you enjoy his music as well!

For those who know me, they know I love to dance. You can quite often find me rockin out to some dancy tunes that really make you move. I just love it – it invigorates me and really gets me excited about what I am working on.

I chair dance a lot. And by a lot I mean pretty much every day. Chair Dancing occurs when you start bouncing in your chair because the song is just that good. It often causes others to either stare, laugh or roll their eyes but I don’t mind because I’m groovin. It is quite similar to Car Dancing – which I also do a lot of (not surprisingly).

Right now, the song that is making me chair dance while editing some really great sessions is, Feel it In My Bones by Tiesto featuring Tegan and Sara. Awesome. Have a listen and tell me you didn’t start movin to the beat.

Another one I discovered a while ago is by one of my favourite bands; Owl City. They are phenominal, although Thomas keeps joking that the singer sounds like a little kid, but I don’t care, I love the sound. Very talented I say.

This one is called Hello Seattle the Remix. It starts off slow but don’t worry, there’s a pretty rad beat that kicks in to get you going.
