Brand spanking new promotional video!
Posted on Dec 20, 2011 at 4:18 pm by Liz · 3 CommentsThis has been a project months in the making. This summer I set out to have a promotional video made of myself. I had the pleasure of working with my favourite Ottawa wedding videographer, Jeff from Equivocality, for not only Genevieve and James‘ wedding this summer, but also for Vikki and Dan‘s wedding this fall. He is an amazing person to work alongside and I knew he was the one I wanted to create this video for me.
Special thanks to Tiffany & Phil, Elizabeth & Cooper and Genevieve & James for helping to make this video amazing – I couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you for allowing Jeff to tag along and film our sessions together – it really does mean the world to me!
You’ll learn some pretty great things about this video:
- I shoot with my glasses on (4 eyes of the world unite!)
- I attract dogs from miles around (and totally love it)
- Thomas and I have some awesome dance skills
And without further adieu, my promo video!
The fantastic and adorably cute song in this video is by Mindy Gledhill. You should definitely check her out – I really love her stuff and am so happy I was able to find it for my video.
And now for some images captured during the making of this video.
First up are Tiffany and Phil and their stunning fall engagement session. These two got engaged in Gatineau Park so it was fitting to have their engagement session at Mackenzie King Estates in Gatineau Park. The fall colours were absolutely perfect and it was so beautiful.
Tiffany and Phil are getting married next fall and I cannot wait for their wedding!!

Next up is the adorable Cooper and his favourite human, Elizabeth.
Cooper is a golden doodle and at the time of our session this fall, he was 5 months old and VERY bouncy. We had the session at Bruce Pit Park and made lots of friends while having a wonderful time.

Where’s Cooper?

Nom nom nom…

Last but definitely not least is Genevieve and James. You may remember from their wedding that Genevieve’s hair was blonde. I asked her and James to get all dolled up once again in their wedding attire and they were so wonderful about it. We had such a fun time around City Hall and found some beautiful trees to photograph under. I just adore the colours in these images.
(for those who follow my blog, you may have seen these posted before.)

Sergeant Cuteface…oh and his humans too ~ Lauren and Alex’s Engagement Sneak Peek
Posted on Aug 31, 2011 at 2:15 pm by Liz · No CommentsYesterday, after already having to reschedule once, Mother Nature was kind enough to stop raining and give us some beautiful sunshine for a few hours for Lauren and Alex’s engagement session. We began at Watson’s Mill in Manotick and then moved to the paths of Prince of Wales a bit later on with their adorable Yorkshire Terrier, Teddy.
It turned out to be a great evening and we got some fantastic portraits to celebrate Lauren and Alex’s wedding in January 2012 at Strathmere. These two climbed rocks and scaled cliffs for their session and it was awesome! I love it when couples are willing to climb for the perfect portrait.
Here are a few sneak peeks and stay tuned for lots more soon!

How could you resist this cutie?? I think they should re-name him Sergeant Cuteface.

Have a wonderful day,

The elizabeth&jane photography Home Studio
Posted on Apr 14, 2011 at 11:00 am by Liz · 4 CommentsLast year I blogged about our office makeover and I thought it would also be fun to share images of my home studio with you as well.
When couples come in for a wedding consultation, we meet in my home studio which is located in Nepean (Ottawa). I am very proud of our pretty rad decorating skills and I think the space really lends to my style of photography.
So take a look around my home studio and I hope you enjoy it!

The goblet in the left image was a wedding gift from Thomas’ parents. It was given to them by family on their wedding day and they passed it on to us on ours. I love special family heirlooms like that.

If you have any questions regarding specific products, my process, work, or if you would like to set up a consultation or a session, I would be more than happy to assist you.
Have a wonderful day,

I started the blog almost three years ago after Paddington had to go through some pretty intense surgery. If you’d like to read about my journey into dog blogging, check out this article here.
I was extremely excited to discover that the Ottawa Dog Blog has been chosen by Canadian Living Magazine as one of the top Canadian Blogs!!
The Ottawa Dog Blog is featured in the November Issue of Canadian Living Magazine that is on newsstands now.
I was so excited to be featured that I bought three copies of the magazine the other day!

Beauty in Your Own Backyard
Posted on Aug 9, 2010 at 9:30 pm by Liz · 8 CommentsI am sure Sarah and Ben had walked through this field a hundred times without thinking about how perfect it was for a portrait session, but as soon as I drove past it on the way to their house, I fell in love. We were scheduled to go to one of my favourite graffiti walls, but we just had to photograph here first. It was perfect and beautiful…and home to the biggest spider I’ve ever seen!! eek. I decided not to document that part of our shoot.
Sarah and Ben have the most adventurous cat I’ve ever met. Her name is Jupiter and she loves being outside. Also in their family is Percy, a lab mix they rescued from a shelter in Kingston a few years ago. She is sweet and probably the best behaved dogs I’ve ever met. I love it when couples or families decide to include their pets in their portrait sessions!
We shot a few with the furkids, then ventured out on our own for some fun couples portraits. Sarah and Ben have been married for over three years now and are still as in love as the day they got married.
Sarah and Ben are also cool because we share a love for Sushi and they recently introduced me to an amazing Sushi Restaurant in Ottawa called Genji. If you love sushi, definitely check them out!
And without further adieu, may I present: Sarah, Ben, Percy and Jupiter.
