They Braved the Cold with Short Sleeves
Posted on Apr 6, 2011 at 9:00 am by Liz · 1 CommentKaren and Brad wanted some new portraits to send home to their families in Newfoundland to show them their brand new amazing selves after both of them lost a substantial amount of weight.
We had a great time in Strathcona Park for their fall session. It was uber cold and yet these two were AWESOME and braved it without jackets or even sleeves for some of the shots!

A little tumble didn’t ruin his day!
Posted on Apr 5, 2011 at 10:00 am by Liz · No CommentsI had the pleasure of photographing little Jack a few days before Christmas and he was such a sweetheart. The poor little monkey had a fall about 15 minutes after we started the session and we had to take a quick break and watch some cartoons while getting Mommy-cuddles to make it all better.
After our little break, we played trucks in the kitchen and eventually braved the cold and headed outside for a walk in the park. I just love little kids in snow-suits! So cute!
Jack is such a wonderful little boy and his parents love him very much. He wasn’t too sure about me after his fall (I think he thought my big lens might have cause it – I promise it didn’t!), so Mom and Dad jumped up and down many times over to get him to giggle and although I wasn’t the one jumping and out of breath, I think it was very much worth it! Jack had a wonderful time and eventually forgot about the lady with the scary camera and had a great time.
Thank you Paulette and Tim for allowing me to capture your son’s joyful spirit. I can’t wait to do it again!
I love the face he is making!

Not too sure of me…

This was not posed at all – this is 100% natural and how he decided he wanted to watch TV. So adorable! Love the little pinkie sticking out.

Jumping, jumping and more jumping!

Best face ever. Love it!

I just love this series.

I love creating custom items from portrait sessions and one of my absolute favourite products are these super adorable 3×3 Mini Books. They are magnetic and even stick to the fridge!

Hot Pink and Surrounded by Boys
Posted on Apr 2, 2011 at 1:00 pm by Liz · No CommentsThis is the lovely Slater family. Sheri is a photographer in Ottawa and booked one of my Holiday Card Mini Sessions. She chose the Petrie Island location and although we almost got slipped up by goose droppings, we had a great time!
And ladies, don’t you LOVE Sheri’s coat? Talk about awesome!

This photo just cracks me up! Look at the little monkey hamming it up for the camera!

This one is also a favourite – I call it “Squishkiss”

And a few of Mom and Dad sans kiddos.

Sheri, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your very handsome family!

The Session That Almost Wasn’t…
Posted on Mar 31, 2011 at 11:30 am by Liz · 1 CommentAs I am getting caught up in blog posts, today’s takes us all the way back to the fall of 2010. Jen is a phenomenal newborn and family photographer and she and I have been friends for a few years. Every year we meet to take photos of each other’s families for the holidays.
But this session almost didn’t happen because both of us got SO insanely lost that we almost never made it! Both Jen and I had been lusting after photographing at Mackenzie King Estate so we thought it would be the perfect place for our double session. The main road through Gatineau Park to get there was closed for the season, so we ended up detouring around and both of us got crazy lost and Thomas and I even accidentally ended up driving onto someone’s private property – oopsie!
When we finally did both arrive, the scenery was beautiful. It was a chilly day and not many people were out and about, but we had a great time shooting and got some fantastic shots.
To see the portraits that Jen took of my family, click here.
And finally (sorry for the hugelong wait) is Jen and her beautiful family.

As a side note, Jen and Greg recently welcomed their fourth child, and she will be up tomorrow! We did some maternity portraits on this day as well!

Waiting on the World to Change
Posted on Jan 31, 2011 at 1:00 pm by Liz · 2 CommentsJen is the lovely and amazing talent behind Jennifer Bailey Photography. She was expecting her fourth little miracle and she asked me to take some portraits to remember their family before her three kids turned into older siblings again.
Bum!

Mom and her kiddos

Jen captioned this: “We will soon have another hand to feed”

Last moments as parents of three.

Jen and Greg’s furst child: the kitty.

A few months ago we did a mini maternity session at Mackenzie King Estates.

As a side note, Jen and Greg welcomed their little baby girl, Layla, on Thursday January 27th at 1am. On Jen’s birthday – talk about a great birthday gift!
