Valerie…call on me!

I was so lucky to have Valerie, my student intern, here with me for 3 whole weeks! She helped me photograph products, package up client orders, select blog post images, create marketing pieces, create networking pieces and much much more.

A lot of the things she helped me with I couldn’t have done without her!

On Thursday, a particularly warm day in Ottawa, we headed outside around town to photograph her and we had a lot of fun. Then we went to the Works (she’s definitely my kind of girl!)

Valerie is such a sweetheart and I know she’ll do great things with her photography business once she graduates.

Thanks for being so awesome Valerie, I (and the doggies) will surely miss you!

I love how Valerie’s ring compliments the wall so well.

We came across a random pile of broken things out the back of an apartment complex so we decided to use them. Broken rocking chair? why yes I’ll use that in my photo!

Say Hello to Valerie!

I’m so excited to introduce all of you to my intern for the next few weeks! Her name is Valerie and she is a photography student at Le Cité Collégiale. She just finished her first week with me and I had such a great time with her – good thing I have her for two more weeks!!

Valerie will be prepping images for long lost blog posts (there are A LOT coming your way so stay tuned!!). She is also helping me with some marketing materials, photographing lots of products, doing some updates to the elizabeth&jane Facebook page and lots more! I am very happy and thankful to have her here to help me out for a few weeks!

I had Valerie do some shots for me for my Ottawa Dog Blog today and she did a fantastic job!

The elizabeth&jane photography Home Studio

Last year I blogged about our office makeover and I thought it would also be fun to share images of my home studio with you as well.

When couples come in for a wedding consultation, we meet in my home studio which is located in Nepean (Ottawa). I am very proud of our pretty rad decorating skills and I think the space really lends to my style of photography.

So take a look around my home studio and I hope you enjoy it!

The goblet in the left image was a wedding gift from Thomas’ parents. It was given to them by family on their wedding day and they passed it on to us on ours. I love special family heirlooms like that.

Ok so it’s not brand spanking new, but the website just got revamped and realigned.
MANY MANY MANY thanks to my awesome hubby, Thomas Bradley, for rockin the HTML5 on this one. That’s right folks, no more flash which means that the elizabeth&jane photography website will work on mobile devices such as the iPad, iPhone, etc! Awesomesauce!

Now everyone can see the website, not matter how they are looking at it.

Happiness Walks on Busy Feet

I am happiest when I am busy, hence the blog title of this post. As the weather gets warmer (recently: a lot warmer!!) and as our wedding season kicks into high gear, our blogging will become a little less frequent. We are busy and I am loving it!

Don’t worry, we will still be blogging all of our sessions, but they may come at you all at once instead of nicely spaced apart. I have quite a few sessions that need to be blogged so those will be going live in the next week or so, including a funtastic shoot I did with Jane a few weeks ago!

Since posts are just plain boring without a photo, here is one from a wedding reception I photographed last weekend. Disclaimer: objects in photo may appear larger than actual size.

A bee is never as busy as it seems; it’s just that it can’t buzz any slower.
