Baby Love ~ Jen and Scott’s Maternity Session
Posted on Jan 24, 2013 at 1:43 pm by Liz · No CommentsYesterday was a gorgeous day for a drive…and boy did I drive! My silly GPS took me to 2 wrong locations while trying to find the right one and I was so very late that I was so thankful that these two are as laid back as they are!
Jen and Scott are expecting their first baby – a girl who is due in March! We had a wonderful time, along with their two gorgeous Alaskan Malamutes, Triton and Tali.
Jen works at Global Pet Foods in Kanata and I was introduced to her through Karla and Shawn, who own the Kanata and Hintonburg locations.

Jen and Scott are going to be wonderful parents.

Tali is the older of the two, and is so happy and excited pretty much all the time! She loves talking and I managed to capture one of our conversations.

Tritan is such a calm dog and his favourite thing to do, aside from laying in the snow, is laying on the mat in the sun.

Love this one.

Their family is growing by 2 feet!

Have a wonderful day,

Babies and Bubbles ~ Aidan’s 1 Year Session
Posted on Jan 18, 2013 at 9:00 am by Liz · No CommentsI had a lot of fun on my session with the adorable Aidan! I was so excited to see Aidan again after photographing him as a teensie newborn. I always love to go back to people I’ve worked with before, and it is such a privilege to be able to document a family’s history as they grow.
Aidan had a great time playing around the house with his parents while I photographed the silliness. Then, to celebrate his recent birthday, Aidan got a cupcake! He was very excited about it. The cupcake basically got everywhere, so after that it was time for a bath! Luckily he likes those too.
Take a look at this cute kid!

Snow Kissed ~ Lauren and Alex’s Wedding
Posted on Jan 16, 2013 at 11:47 am by Liz · No Comments
Lauren and Alex were looking stunning at their winter wedding. Every detail of this day was perfect and personal and everyone had a wonderful time celebrating the love of this beautiful couple.
Which one moment will last for each of you forever?
Lauren: Sitting at dinner and looking out at all our family and friends enjoying themselves. I remember feeling extremely happy that everything had come together so well and incredibly lucky to have everyone there to share this day with us.
Alex: Singing and dancing to Andrew W.K. “She Is Beautiful” surrounded by my friends and absolutely stunning wife.
Best advice for future bride/grooms?
Lauren: Ask for help! You cannot do everything yourself, even though you may think you can. I had so much help from my superstar colleagues who were willing to lend a hand with all the DIY details of the decor. I couldn’t have done it without them!
Alex: Any stress or worry you’ve built up during the time of planning pretty much goes away the second the day starts. Keep that in mind and be prepared to enjoy your day.

What was the funniest memory from your wedding day?
bride: During speeches, Alex was talking about what the future holds – just as his best man Dave walks in front of the podium carrying his crying baby Audrey.
groom: Being serenaded by a bunch of friends during a Robyn song.

Snow Day ~ Baurenschmidt Family Sneak Peek
Posted on Jan 7, 2013 at 4:11 pm by Liz · No CommentsHappy New Year!!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and the happiest of new years! I had a great holiday, spending time with family and relaxing to enjoy the season.
During the holidays, I photographed a very special session. Christine contacted me in October about a holiday session for her family as a Christmas gift. It was supposed to be a surprise to her family, especially to her mother who has always wanted a family portrait that included their very special fur-kid, Xander the giant schnauzer.
At the pet expo this year, Christine’s mom found me and told me how excited she was about the session – Christine had to spill the beans to make sure everyone was available for the session!
The day we had scheduled the session was the BIGGEST snowstorm with swirling winds and crazy amounts of snow falling from the sky. Needless the say we had to reschedule and I think everyone was so pleased we did! The day we actually had the session was freezing cold, but really beautifully sunny – exactly what Christine had wanted – snow and sun!
I had such a great time with this family at the Arboretum and they were such troopers for wading through the HUGE amounts of snow!

Xander is such a wonderful dog.

One of Xander’s favourite things about winter is trying to catch the snow.

He conquered this snow pile.

I thought it would be fun to post an outtake. With dogs (and kids!) sometimes you just can’t keep them in one place! Xander decided to go exploring – can you spot him?
